Nick and Andy

Later Life

As we become older, it is natural to become more concerned about the future and what it holds for us. Often, it is difficult to know who to discuss your concerns with.

Both Andrew Durban and Nick Richards are experienced in advising and providing support and hold qualifications in Long Term Care Planning and Equity Release.

In addition Nick is a fully accredited member of the Society of Later Life Advisers (SOLLA) a “not for profit” organisation founded in 2008.  SOLLA aims to ensure consumers are better informed about financial issues in later life and have confidence in finding and using an accredited financial adviser.

Mrs B met Andrew, after the sudden death of her husband, her son and daughter lived up country and she did not want to burden them with her problems.

“When I first met Andrew, he put my mind at ease straightaway. He reassured me no major decisions needed to be made until I was ready to do so. Over a period of time, he helped  me wind up my late husband’s estate, in conjunction with my solicitor. When this was completed, I started to think about my future life as the family home was too big for me to manage on my own. For the last few years it has been more difficult to do things as my mobility has worsened. With Andrew’s help and advice, having discussed everything with my son and daughter, I decided to sell up and move into a residential home nearer to  my daughter.

Andrew helped me enormously and alleviated my main worry about having enough money to pay for residential home fees. Now I have a plan that secures the payment of fees for the rest of my life. Also, I have been able to give some of the proceeds from the sale of the house to my children”.
